How a pass gets timed

GPS and the accelerometer, fused

Speed comes from GPS; the launch instant comes from the accelerometer. The report shows GPS accuracy, satellite count and launch confidence, so you know exactly what your number is worth.

Density altitude, computed per run

Temperature and pressure are looked up for where you are, and the report carries elevation, slope and density altitude — the difference between a brag and a baseline.

The whole curve, kept

Every run is saved on your phone with its splits, speed and g traces, and the ground track drawn on a map. Nothing to export, nothing expiring.

Put it on the board

Publish a run and your time goes up with its trap speed, peak g, GPS quality, slope, density altitude, and the car that set it — year, make, model, mods. The server reads the time out of the run itself, so nobody types their way to the top.

The boards are ready for the Speedy board, too: a run measured by the dedicated hardware below lands on the same leaderboard as phone runs, marked with its own glyph the way iOS and Android runs already are.

Your route stays home

Publishing sends the numbers, never the map. The GPS track of your run is stored only on your phone and is stripped from every leaderboard entry before it leaves the device.

A phone does everything; an instrument does one thing. The Speedy board is a pocket GPS timer built around a dedicated u‑blox MAX‑M10S receiver with a full-size 25 × 25 mm patch antenna — the kind of aperture no phone has room for — and a six-axis IMU watching for the launch. It talks to the app over Bluetooth, and its runs go on the same boards. The first boards are on the production line now.

A six-axis IMU catches the instant the car moves and reads g-force — the same job the phone's accelerometer does, without the phone.

Bluetooth LE to your phone, firmware updates through the app, USB‑C charging, and a four-LED gauge: charge level, a sweep while it hunts satellites, solid on fix.
