Data Safety & Account Deletion
Effective September 1, 2026 · Speedy - Drag Timer
This page summarises what Speedy collects and shares, in the structure Google Play's Data safety section uses, and explains how to delete your account and data — whether or not you still have the app installed. The full detail lives in the privacy policy.
Data collection at a glance
| Data type | Collected? | Shared? | Purpose | Optional? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Precise location | Used on the device while measuring; coordinates sent to our server only for the weather lookup, not stored with your account | Forwarded to OpenWeatherMap for the conditions lookup, without account information | App functionality (speed, distance, altitude, density altitude) | Yes — but the timer cannot work without GPS |
| Email address | Yes, with an account | No (delivered through our email provider to reach you) | Account management | Yes — no account is needed to time runs |
| Name (display name) | Yes, with an account | Shown publicly next to entries you publish | Account management, leaderboard | Yes |
| App info and performance (device model, OS version, app version, locale, unit preference, app-scoped random ID) | Yes, once at sign-up and sign-in | No | Debugging measurement across devices | Collected only if you create an account |
| Published runs (times, trap speeds, peak g, GPS quality, slope, altitude, density altitude, temperature, vehicle year/make/model/mods) | Yes, when you publish | Public on the leaderboard | Leaderboard | Yes — publishing is explicit |
| Diagnostic run logs (raw run samples including that run's GPS track) | Only if uploaded; availability is controlled server-side | No | Debugging GPS and timing behaviour | Yes |
- No advertising ID is collected, and there are no ads or third-party analytics SDKs.
- No background location: measurement runs in the foreground with a visible notification.
- The GPS track of a run stays on your phone and is never part of a published leaderboard entry.
- Data is sent over HTTPS (encrypted in transit).
Delete your account in the app
Open Speedy and go to the Settings tab.
Tap your profile.
Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your account and sign-in identity, your profile and display name, your garage, and every leaderboard entry you published.
Delete your account without the app
Email support@chateclipse.com with the subject "Delete my Speedy account", from the email address the account is registered to.
We verify the request by replying to that address, then delete the account. You'll get a confirmation when it's done.
This route works for everyone — you don't need the app installed, and there is nothing to sign in to. You can also use it to request deletion of specific data (for example uploaded diagnostic logs) without closing the whole account.
What deletion removes, what it doesn't
- Removed: account and email address, display name, profile, garage vehicles, all published leaderboard entries and their run reports.
- Stays on your phone: runs you recorded locally. They belong to you and the deletion doesn't reach into your device; uninstalling the app removes them.
- Retained: diagnostic run logs you uploaded, with the link to your profile removed — they keep only a device model string and a timestamp. Ask in the same email if you want them erased entirely, and we will remove them.
- Short-lived operational server logs rotate out on their own schedule.
